Pour a glass, the Wine & Film series hosted by Van the Wine Man returns to Circle Cinema on Thursday April 13. Explore the world of wine culture with a guided tasting of South African wines before watching the new documentary “Blind Ambition” about four sommeliers from Zimbabwe looking to compete on the world stage. Plus, one lucky guest will win a table for four to The Tavern’s upcoming Wine & Swine event. Tickets include the wine tasting and admission to the film.

The evening begins at 5:30pm with Tulsa’s own Van the Wine Man leading attendees through a sampling of wines from South Africa’s Storm Point. On offer will be the 2020 Chenin Blanc and 2017 Force Celeste Red Blend. Van has decades of experience in the wine industry and has traveled the world to truly understand what makes for a good glass of wine. Select bottles of wine from the tasting will also be on sale. Learn more about Van and sign up for his email newsletter for all the great wine events in Tulsa at VantheWineMan.com.

Before the film at 7:00pm, Van will give away the table for four to Wine & Swine – a $400 value! At The Tavern on Wednesday April 19, the annual outdoor wine dinner and pig roast set is specially crafted to honor the noble and delicious pig. This year will feature wine pairings from the diverse portfolio of Vine Street Imports, with Aaron Meeker onsite to represent. Also onsite will be winemaker Franco Lourens from the South African winery Lourens Family Wines.

At 7:00pm, see the new documentary “Blind Ambition.” After escaping starvation and tyranny in their homeland of Zimbabwe, four friends conquered the odds to become South Africa's top sommeliers. Driven by relentless optimism, a passion for their craft and a sense of national pride, they form Zimbabwe's first national wine tasting team and set their sights on the coveted title of "World Wine Tasting Champions."

Tickets are just $12 for Circle Members and $15 for non-Members. This event is 21+ only. All tickets include the wine tasting (valued at $6/pour) and admission to the film.
