NOFORM presents a special free film screening of Marlene Morris’ "From Here/From There" ("DE AQUÍ DE ALLÁ") and a preview of Rogelio Esparza’s upcoming book and portrait exhibition, "Los Nopales Del Norte," at Circle Cinema on Sunday, November 3, 2024. The event will feature a Q&A with filmmaker Marlene “Mo” Morris, photographer Rogelio Esparza, and special guest Jazmin Zaragoza, a Tulsa-based attorney and community advocate. The screening and book preview will be followed by a reception with Sunday brunch and an opportunity to pre-purchase copies of Rogelio’s book.

"From Here/From There" ("De Aquí De Allá") follows Seattle-based immigration attorney Luis Cortes Romero as he defends DACA recipients at the U.S. Supreme Court, becoming the first undocumented immigrant to argue before the nation’s highest court. Directed by Marlene “Mo” Morris, the film combines personal storytelling with a high-stakes legal battle, offering a powerful look at the fight for DACA protections and the broader struggles of undocumented communities. Learn more about the film at FromHereFromThere.com.

"Los Nopales Del Norte" is Rogelio Esparza’s photography project and upcoming coffee table book, capturing the lives of Mexican Americans and Mexican dreamers through striking portraits and personal stories. Inspired by Esparza’s own journey as a Mexican immigrant raised in Oklahoma, the work highlights resilience, cultural pride, and the complexities of dual identity. Attendees will have the chance to explore a sneak peek of the project in Circle Cinema’s lobby gallery, with opportunities to pre-order the book during the reception. Los Nopales Del Norte is supported by the Artists Creative Fund. Learn more at RogelioEsparza.com.
