Step back in time with Circle Cinema’s Black Film Council for a 1920s-themed party and screening of the 1989 comedy-drama “Harlem Nights” on Fri 2/28. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1920s period costumes for a festive evening kicking off with a costume party at 6pm, featuring a cash bar with Prohibition-inspired cocktails, light refreshments, and entertainment by local DJ OmaleyB. Test your film knowledge in a “Harlem Nights” trivia contest, with teams of up to five participants competing for prizes (entry is $5 per person, payable in cash at the event). The fun continues at 7:30pm with a screening of “Harlem Nights,” introduced by emcees Hank Byrd and Dr. Tamecca Rogers, both renowned for their work in filmmaking and film education in Tulsa. Tickets for the event are $15, including the film, and can be purchased in advance at www.circlecinema.org.
